Egypt

Heard on an advertisement on Discovery channel for Egypt Tuesdays that there is evidence that ancient Eqyptians ate their kids. Probably during a drought, like the one that brought the Hebrews to Egypt. Happened in cycles according to my recent history text, every 7-10 years. Oh, how long was the prophesied drought? 7 years. Hm.

What made Jesus angry?

In Mark 3, the Pharisees were trying to catch Him breaking the Law. He was asked to heal a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath. He had asked them if it was wrong to do good on the Sabbath and they refused to answer. He then got angry AT THE HARDNESS of their HEARTS!

Yowza, just think how angry He is at the hardness of the hearts of the people who believe it is okay to burn an unborn baby to death, or cut them up into pieces while still in their mother's womb, or to kill them before they are born when they could live on their own or leave them to die in a closet when they survive an abortion. Angry wouldn't really be a good word to describe His feelings now is it?

No wonder the words "Beware the wrath of God" or "Woe, woe, woe" are used.

Happy Independence Day!

Yesterday on the way home we pulled over under a major fireworks display. Don't know why, it wasn't even Independence Day, but you know the progressives, honoring the blood shed of those who love freedom and the Declaration of Independence only when it is convenient for them.

However, I was just thinking about gun powder, and all explosive ordinances.

WHEN JESUS RULES THE WORLD, IT WILL ALL BE USED FOR FIREWORKS! Only celebrations for a thousand years, no bullets, no bombs, just fireworks.

Are you ready for the Return of Jesus?

Surprise! A lot of people die on that day. It's not going to be pretty. Just read Malachi and in chapter 2:

2. "But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like refiner's fire and like fullers' soap.

3. An He will sit as a smelter and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the LORD offerings in righteousness."

...

5. "Then I will draw near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers and against the adultereres and against those who swear falsely, and against those who oppress the wage earner in his wages, the widow and the orphan, and those who turn aside the alien, and do not fear Me," says the LORD of hosts."

Yowza - read the whole book, its only 4 chapters.

Nothing new under the sun...

God cannot let evil continue on the national level. Don't be surprised at who is causing fear worldwide today.

Habakkuk 1:5&6

"Look among the nations! Observe!
Be astonished! Wonder!
Because I am doing something in your days--
You would not believe if you were told.
For behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, (the Babylonians - historic Iraqis)
That fierce and impetuous people
Who march throughout the earth
To seize dwelling places which are not theirs."

12b-15

"Thou, O LORD, has appointed them to judge;
And Thou, O Rock, has established them to correct.
Thine eyes are too pure to approve evil,
And Thou canst not look on wickedness with favor.
Why dost Thou look with favor
On those who deal treacherously?
Why art Thou silent when the wicked swallow up
Those more righteous than they?
Why has Thou made men like the fish of the sea,
Like creeping things without a ruler over them?
The Chaldeans bring all of them up with a hook,
Drag them away with their net,
And gather them together in their fishing net.
Therefore, they rejoice and are glad."

Habakkuk prays 3:16-19

"I heard and my inward parts trembled,
At the sound my lips quivered.
Decay enters my bones,
And in my place I tremble.
Because I must wait quietly for the day of distress,
For the people to arise who will invade us.
Though the fig tree should not blossom,
And there be no fruit on the vines,
Though the yield of the olive should fail,
And the fields produce no food,
Though the flock should be cut of from the fold
And there be no cattle in the stalls,
Yet I will exult in the LORD,
I will rejoice in the God of my salvation,
The Lord GOD (YHWH) is my strength,
And He has made my feet like hinds' feet,
And makes me walk on my high places."

God Avenges through national strife, drought, earthquakes

Just read Nahum and will eventually do a word study of God's vengeance. The war against terror can be fought at home in the war against abortion, terrorism against the unborn.
